Brooklyns First GreenPlumbers Advocates for Water Conservation

Brooklyn’s First GreenPlumbers® Urges Homeowners to Prioritize Water Conservation

Petri Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Drain Cleaning, a family-owned business serving Brooklyn and Manhattan since 1906, is leading the charge in promoting water conservation. As Brooklyn’s first GreenPlumbers® member, Petri emphasizes that maintaining clean water should be a top priority for homeowners.

Petri Plumbing is highlighting the importance of water conservation during National Green Week, which runs from February 3 to April 30. Homeowners are encouraged to dedicate a week within this period to learn about and implement practical green initiatives, including reducing water usage.

“As Brooklyn’s first GreenPlumbers® member, Petri takes pride in spearheading the green plumbing revolution in the Brooklyn area,” said Michael Petri, owner of Petri Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Drain Cleaning. “Green plumbers focus on installing and maintaining plumbing systems that prioritize water and energy conservation.”

Petri Plumbing offers several solutions to help homeowners conserve water, such as:

  • Installing low-flow toilets and faucets
  • Addressing leaks promptly to prevent water waste
  • Using sustainable materials for plumbing renovations

GreenPlumbers® is an innovative accreditation program that trains plumbers to promote green plumbing technology, helping homeowners save both water and money. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the average American uses about 82 gallons of water per day, and families can save over $380 annually by retrofitting with WaterSense-labeled fixtures and using ENERGY STAR-certified appliances.

“Green plumbing practices are not only beneficial for the environment but also help homeowners save money in the long run,” added Petri. “Green plumbers don’t just fix a leak; they fix a homeowner’s bill.”
